Fylde Coast Academy Trust (FCAT) is governed by the FCAT Board of Trustees. The Board has overall responsibility for all operations and activities including the quality of the education provided by its Academies. It is primarily accountable to the Members of the Trust and also to external stakeholders and government agencies, including the Department for Education for the work carried out across the Trust. The Board 1) Sets and reviews the vision, direction and strategy of FCAT, 2) Holds the Chief Executive to account for standards of teaching and learning and the delivery of strategy and 3) has overall supervision of finances and resources.
Governance across each Academy within the Trust is delegated to a Local Governing Body known as the Academy Council. Overall operational management is delegated to the FCAT Chief Executive and then through the Executive Headteacher to the Headteacher of the academy.
